After graduating high school in 2004, Travis Bliffen joined the U.S. Army, serving as an infantryman until 2009. His time in the military built the discipline, focus, and self-learning habits that would later shape his career as an entrepreneur and strategist.
After completing his service, Travis returned home to Illinois to work for the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). In 2012, facility closures forced him onto the midnight shift, and after months of long nights, he began looking for a better path.
One evening, on his way to work, Travis stopped at a Walgreens to grab a drink. While waiting in line, he noticed a magazine listing the best businesses to start in 2012. One idea stood out: SEO.
He had no marketing background, but the idea stuck. Drawing on the discipline and self-learning mindset he developed in the Army, Travis enrolled in web development classes at a local college and began teaching himself the fundamentals of SEO.
Later that same year, he landed his first client, a tanning salon in St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park, Florida. What started as writing blog posts for that small business turned into a full SEO campaign and set the stage for an incredible story of growth.
